LOL this was fun! I liked how you started off with I believe I can fly, and then the last lines were Oh god why can't I fly? You really built up the characters nicely, and just because it isnt fast past doesnt mean its not intresting. your story was built up and emotions were well received. Good work on the smooth action transitions, and the coloring and layout always strong and affective. I pertecularly enjoyed the shots of water, valcanoes, and the far zoom shot reveiling the enviornment around them when the dinosaur shouted. Great work here, the simplicity of the art and characters makes it forever classic!

Steinberg responds:

Haha, actually the ending with "I believe I can fly" was shock-dingo's idea.
About the pacing, I usually drag things too much, I wasn't expecting it to get this long, but I guess it worked well in the end.
The last scene and the shouting are my favorite parts too! And I'm glad you liked my color scheme, I wasn't very fond of all the green in the first scene, but it was the best I could do.
Thanks for your insightful review!

Honestly this had some strong simple animation. My biggest grape was the character, while aesthticaly pleasing, he didn't convery strong squash or squish or squish in my opinion. I like something a little more loose and squashey with character animations, but you did a good job sticking to this character and getting inside his head no question. This was cute, but I would have liked to have seen a more curvery guy with more realistic features. Ah well, good luck with your studys!

AdamGCurtis responds:

Thanks!
I'll definitely take it into consideration in future animations!

it was good and the feeling of the emotions were real good, but some of the movement was a lil to stiff, try avoiding pose to pose motions and tweened out movements and more smoth frame by framed timing for a smoother motion, it was pretty good tho and hidden fairly well. Maybe if you were to do a whole production this technique would be good for saving time but for a loop if should be as strong as possible

Gerkinman responds:

Cheers man, as always I was pressed for time, I had around 8 hours to complete the loop because of work and school commitments. Definitely needed more in betweens as opposed to cheap tweened squash and stretch but rendering those inbetweens in this style is too time consuming for this sort of time frame.

Great work man, nice crisp art and suiting animation. It was good to see you tried going the extra mile with character expressions and details. The music was suiting and well done, and the audio effects always apropriate. Overall this movie has a powerful message with some powerfull visuals. It's true that with enough passion you can teach yourself the tricks of this trade, but I do firmly still believe that if you goto a GOOD school, it will greatly help you :) Killer stuff! also how funny is it that there was a pokemon flash submitted today @_@

Blordow responds:

yeah no doubt some schools can teach you valuable stuff, but for me the overall satisfaction of teaching yourself is more rewarding. thanks for the review and support, always appreciated!

funny with decent animation. some the hands felt a little to generic throughout, and some of the posses a lil 2 sloppy. most of the character work was well done tho, i wasnt a big fan of the scene where he was holding his face and his right eye disapeared tho. but yea, good backgrounds and the script was the best thing. funny shit and well timed

DuDuL responds:

At least i know what to work on - i still have problems with poses i think.
The holding face part - i guess i wanted to add something fresh which backfired because of lack of time. Thanks for the feedback ;D

awesome and relatable sir, great graphics and smooth line work. the walk cycle could use more squatch and squish tho =3

TerminalMontage responds:

Thanks! Yeah my movements are still a bit stiff, will work on it! :D

pretty nice stuff going on here. good storyboarding and smooth transitions. The art style was decent along with the animation. I do feel this could have been executed a little sharper tho as far as line quality goes ( ex. the scene with the rat on the ground looked a lil unactractive ) and the hands at some points a little more "handy". But yeah good work for sure, I was most impressed with the ending and the scene where the reapers evaporate. creative things here ^^

Tyler responds:

thanks man. yeah, as for the line quality, I originally was trying to ditch outlines all together and keep things a bit rougher, but it came out a bit odd. ill never use that style again lol
