blunt... animation in all areas still needs improvment. I guess the storyboarding wasn't to bad tho or the joke execution. was a little to vulgar for me, even tho half the shit i make is - it's just this was so blunt rather than dimmed down by excessive cartoonyness if you know what i meeaan

Little-Renastair responds:

lol, okay

Did the gnome steal her wallet ? haha, well the animation was simple and fairly well done. I think it could have been more exagerated, it worked but was basic solid posing. Could used some more squash and squish, but the poses read well anyways. Good shading, made the piece visually apeasing, and the textured images ie. the wallet were nice. A lil laggy but it dont matter. not that entertaining tho no offense. Good work regardless I guess!

Kreid responds:

Thanks man, wish I had longer to expand on some of it, I agree fully about the squash and stretch and what not, as for the lag, the contest said that videos should be uploaded to youtube, so the swf version really wasn't my top priority at the time. Thanks for the positives and constructive feedback!

Pico Sure does rule the day in this one! I came to this page originaly to observe how you animated fast motions instead of using inbetweens when realized I never reveiwed this classic! The character designs over the top cartoonyness works well, espically with the fast thought out pasing. The music flows great with the scene's moods, and the expressions are readable and great. Lip syncs there, and backgrounds were simple and well done. The art styles were always fitting, and the jokes were great. Nice newground refrences throughout. I think what really pulls this together as a piece though is the line quality. The brush work is so soild it's hard to tell what wasn't done in pencil and what wasn't done in brush. You must have turned off the pressure settings on your tablet to achieve this I imagine for the character outlines that were brush? Anyways, response or no response - this flash rules and is an all time favorite. I remember loving every minute of it on picoday =)

boybogart responds:

Hey man, thanks! I didn't actually use any brush for the lines in this, I just used the line tool and coverted it into fills for the parts where thick to thin lines are needed.

this was dumb, and the only thing that showed promise was the title screen which takes no real talent. THIS IS 2012, try to make your flashes reflect that >_>

Little-Renastair responds:

Glad you enjoyed it!

Eat Shit and Die

...To the people who hated on this movie! Truthfully I saw a lot of effort put forth in this film, and the effects were good and showed thought and effort throughout the body of the piece. the end was bad ass, and so was this movie B-)

SXR123 responds:

I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for your input.

twas ok

hope you enjoyed being on the top 50 today. the gags were clearly visible and visuals loud.

sasar responds:

thanks.....

not bad

the transitions in the begining were espically nice, and the skull sillotte part was great. some of the drawings were a bit slop and the proportions could have been clearer, but as far as excercising great work!

sapoman responds:

Thank you very much.

Not bad

Werid how NG works eh? Your major project gets neglected but the piece you had fun with gets FP! The backgrounds were quite nice, cartoony and fitted the piece. expressions were nice and readable, I just feel you should try drawing differently next time maybe. It's not got to get stuck in one style, you should always be moving as an artist. but yeah... this is fine for what it is, i liked the attention to detail throughout. overall a good simple short. It's good to animate dreams, and my most messed up dreams were probably in my first years to dude. Keep it up regardless.

Gerkinman responds:

NG is a mysterious place. As far as drawing in one style goes, I do draw pretty much the same way in every project, I guess im more interested in seeing how many different ways I can render that drawing style. Whether it be tween based like my next animation will be, or clean vector art like The Telescope was. If you look back through my more recent animations you will find I have even done some photo cut out animation which I loved doing. But your right, I really do need to vary my actual drawing style more.

Wow

Great simple concept and you ran with it well. animation was pretty good. I felt it could have been a little smoother when the fire first engulfed them but besides from that it flowed well. good camera direction throughout and sense of pase. pretty touching tbh. It's good you have a strong love.

Horsenwelles responds:

aww thank you! (the fire was a challenge, but i simplified it)
